This fictional novel endeavors to delve deep into the character of the bandit, Tiburcio Vasquez, based on the non-fiction biography of Vasquez entitled Bandido by Boessenecker.
In the 1800’s California was still a Mexican Territory. The Gold Rush brought immigrants from all over the world who spoke hundreds of different languages. The Mexicans referred to them as Anglos.
Vasquez was then just a boy who witnessed a legacy of violence and crime that would shape his destiny. He grew up in the dusty streets of Monterey, California, watching as the foreigners encroached on his homeland, bringing with them greed and destruction.
