Description
A Feminist Manifesto for Reclaiming Democracy Women must be front and center in the decisions that shape our democracy. For centuries, political power has been concentrated almost entirely in the hands of men. The record of that leadership is visible everywhere: a failure to house the most vulnerable, a failure to guarantee equal rights under the law, a failure to bring lasting peace, and a failure to protect the environment that sustains us. The Equal Rights Amendment remains unfinished. Housing insecurity continues to grow. War and militarization expand while care systems shrink.
Women understand the cost of neglect because we carry the consequences-in our homes, our bodies, our labor, and our communities. We know that democracy must be measured not by speeches or elections alone, but by whether people can live with dignity, safety, and stability. Reclaiming democracy means building a system that prioritizes care over control, equality over hierarchy, and truth over disinformation.
